Hilda and her mother live in a small cottage a "train ride from town". They have been the recipients of mysteriously small notes threatening them if they don't move. As the threats escalate, Hilda takes it upon herself to make friends with the invisible little people leaving the notes. On her journey she encounters a giant, a being thought to have left the land long ago. Now she has another mystery to solve so she and her mother can stay in their ancestral home. Living in a land where magical creatures are somewhat expected regardless if you can see them or not, Hilda uses the power of friendship to try and make everyone happy. This is a charming comic book about a young girl who lives with her mother amid a colony of hidden elves whose Prime Minister's campaign promise to evict Hilda & her mother as intruders leads to destruction & misunderstanding. Hilda, friend to all creatures, helps to resolve the conflict and to discover the mystery of the elusive Midnight Giant. The images and the story are winning and would be welcome amid Asterix, TinTin & Babymouse in our Library.
