It was interesting to see the characters, though they didn't match how I'd been viewing them for the past 10 novels. I was not a fan of this, maybe I like things in a certain order and this was thrown somewhere into the middle of the series (as far as characters go). I don't normally give any type of spoiler, but this one is an important warning (and the reason I'm not happy with this graphic novel) is there is a rape scene (with pictures). I was really not prepared for that and I know others might not want to view/read about it either. So just a bit of a warning. I read this graphic novel as I was hoping to have a bit of origin stories or something on the background of the book they refer to in the series. To be honest, I was bored as was my daughter who the comic (and book series) is actually aimed at for her age group. The art could be pretty at times, but overall, I would say just borrow this from the library or get it used or half priced. It doesn't really add to much to the book novel series unless you are a true or big fan of the House of Night series. I definitely don't recommend reading this graphic novel or comic book without having read at least the first novel, Marked, in the House of Night series as it without that background of story, the characters are harder to care about and you have no reason to really finish it. Harsh? Maybe, but for me, it did not work and it definitely did not work for my daughter who usually loves these type of books with a female teenager lead in a fantasy series.
What do You think about House Of Night #1 (2011)?
I hate this series but the artwork is so pretty in these.
