How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You? (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
Little dinosaurs are sometimes naughty, but they are also often quite sweet. Dinosaurs know just how to let their parents know they love them. This was a sweet selection in this series. It had more of the same, things that naughty dinosaurs do and the preferable things that good dinosaurs do, but it didn't wait until the last half to point out the good things. It pointed out some naughty things, then immediately turned around and said what good dinosaurs do, and for that reason I think it stands out a little from the rest in the collection. Some might say these books actually give kids ideas of how to be naughty, but eh, kids will figure that out all on their own, it's good to show a contrast and how they should be behaving. This is an unremarkable story about dinosaurs doing naughty things and then doing nice things and their “parents” loving them because they do the nice things. It’s a little weird because the parents are humans and the dinosaurs are…well, dinosaurs. Is it alluding to children and the naughty things they sometimes do? Maybe. (probably). But the pictures are big, and it is all about dinosaurs, so it would likely be a good read aloud book.
