This book does not disappoint. I love the Alpha Pack and Hunter is such a hottie. This is the 4th book and they never disappoint. Never. The Alpha Pack were turned in Afghanistan, all of them have Psy gifts and all of them fight the bad and the badly messed up paranormal to keep humans safe and unaware. The Pack is mostly wolf shifters with a cat shifter and sorcerer. When they are seriously hurt on a mission, they don't instantly heal. But they do heal more quickly in body. In mind not always so fast. An evil Fae king and greedy government people seek to make the ideal, nearly indestructible soldier. But Alpha Pack is there to ruin their plans. The imagination it takes to build this insane paranormal world within the human race is fascinating. J.D. Tyler makes the impossible monsters real and then the Alpha Pack is there to destroy or save them. Awesome writing that I love and of course each member of Alpha Pack meets their mate. Gotta love that, right? I have really enjoyed the Alpha Pack series but I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others. It started off good but I thought Ryon and Daria became physically intimate WAY too fast. It was so fast, in fact, that their passion wasn’t believable to me. Yes, they are mates but even the mating process has an incubation period before jumping in the sack together. I felt the development of the relationship between Ryon and Daria wasn’t smooth. I found myself flipping back pages because it felt like I missed something. I was also surprised that Ryon’s psychic gift didn’t play a bigger part in the book. What I did enjoy about the book was reading about the secondary characters. I would love a Phoenix and Noah story! I was also intrigued towards the end of the book when a bit of information was revealed indicating a setup six years ago when Ryon and the others were ambushed in Afghanistan. I’m definitely looking forward to see how this development unfolds! Also, at the end of the book we get a small glimpse into what is going to happen in the next book. Apparently, someone has it in for Nick Westfall, leader of the Alpha Pack! I can’t wait to start Cole’s book!
What do You think about Hunter's Heart (2013)?
