It was an ok story but I just didn't feel much more than that. Rowan is a good character, strong, confident and ready to do anything to save her brother. Aric is a more complex character with a trouble past, which we don't actually learn a lot about sadly and who is being eaten alive by misplaced guilt and loneliness. He gives the appearance of happiness and joy but he is nearly dead inside until he finally comes across his mate, who he reject by feeling unworthy. This book was nice but still, I was expecting more. So this is basically the same as Primal Law, just swap the characters and their story and you get Aric and Rowan. I definitely liked where this story took place, pretty much only a short while after Aric was captured. We get a bit of insight to who is behind it, but we have a vague idea of why. It's definitely got a more developed plot and is less about sex, which is cool too. I do find it all fascinating what with all the super natural creatures. The next book is about Mac and Kalen, and I can't wait to see how that goes, since there's a bit of an issue towards the end of the book regarding one of them. I'm sure they too will come out on top. I liked it very easy to read and follow.
