Wonderful book. Jax has unusual eyes. They change color from light green to bright blue to violet purple depending upon his mood. What he didn't know, though, was that he could hypnotize people by looking at them. Dr. Maka, of the Sentia Institute, recognizes his talent and offers to teach him how to use it properly. So far, so good. Unfortunately, the good intentions get hijacked by a plot to take over the world (metaphorically speaking) and Jax has to figure out what to do next. This is a book that's hard to put down, a coming of age novel with twists and turns at every corner. Expect sequels.4th grade and up. Great read. Jackson does not realize until he meets Dr. Mako of the Sentia Institute that he can hypnotize people. And, he discovers that he has strong abilities. Jackson saves the day by hypnotizing the candidate to decline the nomination. In the meantime Dr. Mako is furious. And tries to kill Jackson.

A surprisingly good book; cleverly written with enough twists to hold even a teen's interest.
