Ethan is determined to find a new monster when the one usually under his bed goes on vacation! Are any of them creepy enough to scare him to sleep?Well I haven't seen a bedtime story like this before! A colorful, lighthearted story about a boy not being afraid of the monsters hiding under his bed at night. I liked looking at all the different monsters who came to visit and the facial expressions of the almost-fearless Ethan as he encountered them. This a slightly humorous book about a boy who enjoys the company of the monster under his bed. The little boy's character appears as if he has potential to be in animation (because of peculiar features such as eyes and head unproportional to the rest of his body, thus creating unrealistic human anatomy). The illustrations are beautiful as far as creativity, a sense of perspective and a range of dark and light. I believe it was a mixture of charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic.
What do You think about Ich Brauche Mein Monster (2011)?
This is an original monster under the bed story, which is quite a challenge. A must read.
