Better continuity than the first book but it makes the same references to something from the French Revolution which is never explained in either the first or second book. It leaves a gap that really needed to be explained.I do find it interesting that different authors are used for each book. The next author has to pick up the story where the previous author left it. It will be interesting to see if the 3rd book successfully pickes up where the 2nd book ended. Another fun foray into twisted history, Divide and Conquer takes Riq, Dak, and Sera in a chase through altered time fixing "breaks," fighting the evil SQ, and searching for Dak's parents lost in the stream of time. This episode takes us to the time of the Vikings who are laying siege to Normandy. Two highlights of the book were the scene where Dak joins the Berserkergang, and when Riq kisses the foot of the Norman king to promise fealty. Great stuff!
