Jab, Jab, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: Connect With Customers Using The New Science Of Storytelling (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
Space may be the final frontier, but social media is the next one. This book acknowledges the marriage of social media and business. In two words: free marketing. I thought I was semi-savvy with social media, until I read JJJRH. It's like landing on Mars with a "Speak Martian" handbook and the words "Hello" and "bathroom" memorized. That's 98% of the population. Then there's Gary Vaynerchuk who has already landed, speaks all seven dialects of Martian, has moved into a condo in downtown Marsopolis and is having tea with the mayor tomorrow. So basically, we're all starting from square one. Not just the little man; Vaynerchuk makes it clear that the big dogs are confused too.So basically, you need to read this. I like Gary V's inclusion of case studies of actual social media posts, which are probably the most valuable part. He includes a couple dozen actual posts from both small businesses and well-known brands and expounds on how they crushed it or how they bombed on a particular platform. The book still feels a little light on content (and heavy on Facebook-related content), but it's still a great resource for the aspiring social marketer.
