This is a good cookbook for intermediate cooks that seek to change things up. There is a variety of recipes from traditional English faire to Indian curries. For some of the recipes I needed to make substitutions as I didn't want to make another trip to the grocery store for specific items. I have made the granola recipe several times already as it is so good! During my experimentation I discovered that you can cut down the amounts of oil & syrup, increasing the healthfulness without compromising the flavor. This cookbook features the stories of people who learned to love to cook on Jamie's Food Revolution, and includes some nice photographs of them in a home kitchen (not sure whether they're in their own kitchens or not). I've made a few curries and the roasted chicken from this book, and they all turned out well. Nothing has been stellar, but there haven't been any big misses, and it's a pretty book, so it's fun to turn to when I need some inspiration. I do find I tend to turn to Michael Smith, Williams-Sonoma and Gordon Ramsay before I reach for this book, though. It's good, but not great, and these days I don't mind a challenge, so I've been turning to more complicated dishes.
