The Junkie Quatrain. By Peter Clines narrated by Christian Rummel and Therese Plummer. This is a short audible book narrated by Christian Rummel and Theresa Plummer depending on whether the main protagonist is male or female. The only thing negative I can say about Christian is that his range for female voices are all nasal and that confuses the listener. On the other hand he really shines when he does male voices ranging in tone, speed and accent for the various characters. Theresa does a brilliant job in making her characters pop. 4* for the narrators. Now the book. It is not 14. The book that got me hooked on the author. It is far more like his ex-hero series which is not bad but it is not 14. However, the twists, the irony and the basic probability of the happenings in these 4 loosely connected zombie stories sure is worth the read /listen.I would recommend this book to all lovers of the genreWaAr I've had the bad luck lately to "accidentally" end up reading book after book with zombies. I missed the big Z in the blurbs and went ahead, only to be shocked and stunned by hard-to-kill, shambling husks of humanity. So this one! Junkies you say? Sure! 4 novellas about junkies! And a plague, but still. Junkies! I only picked it up because Christian Rummel (the audiobook narrator) mentioned it as one of his faves. I did an 8 book series with Christian Rummel and I miss him terribly, so I decided to go junkie for a little while.Imagine my surprise! Zombies! The Junkies Are a Lie.In any event these are 4 lovely shorts, and the way the weave together is just thrilling. Haunting, engaging, wonderful book. Thérèse Plummer reads the first story and she's really good too.So everyone gets 5 starts! Thérèse, Christopher, and Peter. Thanks Guys!
