What a sweet story of Stillwater Springs ranch in the early 1900s. Lincoln Creed finds Juliana in town with 4 Indian orphans and no place to go. She was disowned by her brother for refusing to marry his business partner and the brother refused to send money for her to feed and house the children. Lincoln has come to town hoping he would have received any applications for the nanny position for his daughter. When he gets Juliana back to the ranch the little girl who is wise beyond her years thinks Juliana would make a good mom and wife. Juliana and Lincoln are both caring, loving people who find each other fills a need but eventually fills a void as well. Such a warm Christmas story with some romance in there too. Perfect book for traveling during the holidays. I love Juliana, the school teacher at the Indian School and all of her displaced charges--Joseph, Teresa, Daisy and Billy. Lincoln Creed is a rancher and a widower with a 6 year old daughter, Gracie. He is looking for a housekeeper, a governess or a wife to teach and take care of Gracie. Juliana's school has been shut down for lack of funds and she was hoping to receive her inheritance so she could continue teaching the children. Her brother refused to send the money because he wants her to come home and be respectable. Lincoln takes her and the children to his ranch for the night. Juliana and Lincoln are match waiting to happen. Fun and fast courtship ensues. HEA.

One of the most warning and heartfelt stories I've read from Linda. Just wonderful.
