Ugh! I've waited long enough for Robbie Boyd and it did not disappoint! Tough to like him at first since he's so crude but he eventually grew on me. HEH. And now as I wait for the continuation of The Guard with the upcoming hero as The Arrow, I'm constantly trying to look for other Highland stories to pass the time, but they simply just WONT DO! UGHHHH!! Monica McCarty has ruined mee!! RUINED I TELL YOU! ;) *I obtained the ARC from winning the Goodreads contest.*I am a big fan of historical romances, and I really did enjoy The Raider. The establishment of their initial meeting was good to establish a basis for the residual feelings we see later in the book. I enjoyed the development of their relationship similar to many others, when they go from lust to love. They had great chemistry and were a well matched pair that didn't necessarily have the perfect relationship that was all rainbows and flowers after they finally realized they were in love. She was able to once again heal him, but this time on a more intimate level in regards to his psyche. The end of the book was as I had hoped and had an element of reality because both had to compromise something to be able to have their relationship. I really enjoyed the story Monica McCarty and look forward to reading some of her other books!
