I needed something relatively mindless to read while on vacation. This was a book at the top of the library's e-books. It's mostly set in Prague so I figured it should be okay. I enjoyed it. The writing style is nice and I enjoyed the characters. It's loosely based around actual history so that makes it a bit interesting as well. If nothing else it makes you curious as to how much history is real.I would recommend this book for people who enjoy teen fantasy novels. An eccentric prince obsessed with beautiful and interesting things hires a clock maker and metal worker to make him a special clock. Then he steals the clock maker's silver eyes when it is almost done, returning him home blind. The man's daughter is strong willed and decides to retrieve her father's eyes, which have been enchanted so the prince can wear them. It's a strange book, and also intriguing. My favorite character is probably the mechanical book-loving spider Astrophil.
Cute book Abbie got free from the library rewards program.
