Dustin left his ex-wife 6 months ago, after 10 years of a miserable marriage, when he catches her cheating on him. He has dated a few women since then. Had a few one night stands, but nothing prepared him for the intense and immediate attraction to Brandon, when he spots him across the bar. He has never been attracted to a guy before, but Brandon sets him on fire! He makes him feel things he never knew he was missing in his sex life, but will he accept that it's more than just a physical attraction to Brandon?I absolutely loved Dustin and Brandon together. It was HOT, HOT, HOT.. They had such a good chemistry. They couldn't keep there hands and mouths off of each other. This book was SO good, until the end!! The author needed to add 5-10 more pages to wrap things up. So much is left unsaid. Brandon may have ended up with Dustin in the end, but the author did a huge disservice to him in the end. There were things that Dustin realized, and should have said to Brandon and didn't. I wanted so bad to give this book 5 stars, but J was left hanging in the end to guess how things turned out. I don't like that. I want everything wrapped up in a nice neat bow. After just finishing Rules of Engagement I'm trying to collect my thoughts to write a somewhat coherent review. This books reminds me very vividly of certain types of free stories I've read in my time, not because of the quality of writing, but rather the structure that seriously doesn't work for me. The story line itself is engaging and the characters great. There are many (many, many) hot scenes and I'm loving the book. Then there's a punch in the gut, fucking around and a quick fix that doesn't seem believeable. Up until the very end this was heading fast to my favorites shelf. Granted, the plot was eclipsed by the porn at times, but I really loved the MCs and their chemistry. Then came the break up and all went to hell. It isn't merely that while reading I get a hell of a possessive streak and hate anything bordering on cheating, and in this case, it felt like that, since there barely even was a break up. It's also that (with this particular book) Dustin having sex with another guy and a girl felt like gratuitous drama. There was no point to it, as Dustin was so clearly okay with the sex part with Brandon. It seemed such an easy way to ad pain and suffering. Why not write more about the family and have Dustin talk with his mother? And Brandon forgiving him just like that, because Dustin fucked two other people? That was a true wtf moment.By no menas am I trying to say this was a bad book, not at all. Despite the sex heaviness there was good characterization, at least of the MCs and some of the dialogue was incredibly well written. But what started out as a four star read dropped to two and a half because the feeling I was left with, was that the author simply wanted to reach the end. I was very happy at first when I noticed there was a sequel, but at least for the moment, I'm going to pass it. The author's other work I'm going to check out, however.
