E' paradossale che un romanzo la cui trama è incentrata sul potere della lettura, su come questa possa influenzare gli stati d'animo delle persone e le loro decisioni, insomma un atto d'amore per i libri, riesca viceversa a non trasmettere assolutamente nulla al lettore.Comincia bene, con un primo capitolo da applausi, ma poi si perde via via, e già a pagina cento rimpiangerete di non aver scelto un altro romanzo.Lento, noioso, farraginoso nella costruzione delle vicende, con un avvenimento assolutamente inutile e fuori registro piazzato senza alcun senso a metà libro.Protagonisti asettici ed anonimi, totalmente buoni o totalmente cattivi, che si muovono come macchiette all'interno di un contesto assolutamente piatto e poco originale, senza il minimo senso di sospensione dell'incredulità.Un vero disastro: una buona premessa è stata completamente gettata alle ortiche.L'ho finito solamente perchè me l'ha regalato mia cognata a Natale, altrimenti l'avrei già scagliato dalla finestra.Uno dei libri più brutti che abbia mai letto. When I came across this story, and read the basic description, I was a bit excited to start it. The first half of the book kept my attention, and the story seemed to be going well. Then about half way through, I felt it stalled. All the things going on just slammed on the brakes, even though things were still be developed leading to the conclusion. Once I got about 3/4 way through, things picked back up. I wasn't overly impressed with the ending, and thought it dragged just a bit (after the climatic finale). Overall, I loved the idea of the story, of how books and reading books create 'energy'.
