This series is not as good as the Paksenarrion series. I think it is because we are trying to follow 3 main protagonists instead of just one. Also, with Paks the God's interest was unique. This series, the God's are talking to just about everyone and their dog. I am a firm beleiever in "less is more", which the author seems not to now share :)On the more positive side, I do enjoy learning more about Kieri Phelan, Dorrin, Arcolin, and Stammel.I have to admit that I got this series for more of Paksenarrion. I was disappointed. The people of Lyonya and Tsaia are going thru growing pains. Each has lost someone important to each of their powers. With increase of magery in both and need to make some fast decisions. Some wonder if Duke Verrakai and Paladin Paks is to blame for this increase. King Keiri Phelan is hoping for heirs by his wife Arian. The Lady of Ladysforest is no more but her loss is intensely felt. King Mikeli needs to find a bride and produce heirs but can't find a suitable lady. Count Arcolin gets a visit from someone in his past which takes him by surprise. Will Tsaia and Lyonya survive what's to come? Will Paks make an appearance? Your answers await you in Limits of Power.Limits of Power showcases just how far power goes but needing action to protect itself. I've loved this series since Paks introduction. The part she plays is vital and unique. Elizabeth Moon's writing is so fluid that you forget your reading a book. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
What do You think about Limits Of Power (2013)?
Does not work well as a stand alone book and isn't engaging enough to seek the earlier ones.
