She was five minutes late for this morning’s meeting, and with her two juniors out tracking down Soriano, only MacLean and his partner Jake Linkenfeld were waiting for her. Linkenfeld was a nice enough guy, who showed Kate the respect she felt she deserved, but if he hung around MacLean long enough, he was bound to be infected by the anti-CC virus. Unlike MacLean, he was a good, empathetic cop who had demonstrated some major investigative skills.
