Ratings are for book 1 and 2 together.I have had this series in my TBR bookshelf forever. I refuse to read a series in which all parts have not been published. The wait would kill me. Having said that, I was in quite a dry spell, with no inspiring books to read, so I just divined into this series without checking to see if book 4 was published. What a mistake, after book 2 I realized that only book 3 is out with the 4th one having no expected date of publication. Book 1 and 2 have felt like one book instead of two. I HATE when books dont end conclusively and I am so annoyed that I started reading these. Book 1 and 2 have had cliffhanger endings and I am not sure I want to read book 3 because of this. I am pretty sure I will go completely nuts if that happens. But I also HATE that Keiran is kidnapped and is separated from Gaige, it will be difficult not to read book 3 because of this.Anyway that is the end of my rant, I will leave it at not knowing if I should read book 3.However, after all that "hate", let me tell you, the books are amazing, I can see the books in motion. It plays like a cross between a Lord of the Rings/ Eragon movie in my head. I can picture everything so clearly. I picture "Death" as Balrog from LOTR, probably because book 3 is called "Fires of Ballin". The elf woman reminds me of a cross between Tauriel and Galadriel. The story is great, I love the MC's, I am loving some of the secondary characters. Everything about the setting and 'world' is beautiful and magical. I cannot wait for the full series. The series deserves 5 stars, but due to the incomplete nature I cannot give the books a 5 star rating. I will hopefully change my mind once I finish all the books in the series. Wow. As stated on the first book, I'm a fan of M.L. Rhodes and I enjoy this type of story a lot. It was also longer than the first book, so we got a lot of action which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this book for all who enjoy shifters, paranormals, suspense and m/m pairings of soul mates. Also, holy cliffhanger, Batman! For those who like to be forewarned, this book does end on a cliffhanger. However, good news! The third book is available, so you can find out how it ends right away. From the reviews I read, that one doesn't appear to leave readers hanging at least as far as Keiran. As for the war, the series continues. I am definitely looking forward to the fourth book being released later this year and since there's only a couple of months left in the year, hopefully it won't be too long.
