Jayden announces when we sit down for dinner. This is the only time I’ve seen him since we came home earlier today. I guess he assumed I wanted some space? But right now, that’s the last thing I want. We need to spend time together so we can get to know one another, I just don’t know how to get him to sit still long enough for that to happen. If that damn phone isn’t ringing, he’s running the other way every time he sees me coming. I take a bite of my Caesar salad and take extra long chewing it so I can take some time to think about what I want to say. “What am I supposed to wear? My clothing still hasn’t arrived yet,” I finally ask when I swallow my bite of salad. I look up at him, but the second I do, he looks away from me and pushes a crouton around on his plate. Almost like doing that gives him something to look at beside myself. How are we supposed to convince people we’re in love if he can’t even look at me?
