Lost Cities #3 (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Ah, I had high expectations and was not disappointed. I was also elated to find more Keefe and Sophie moments :). Once I received my copy I was thinking about the book all during school, whether trying to figure out the mystery or just waiting to go home and continue. Shannon has really improved in her writing since the first book (at least I think so). I found I was falling in love with Keefe more and more. From the beginning we get to see Keefe's background and how much deeper he is; what's behind his funny exterior. Especially after an unexpected obstacle is thrown in his way. I felt Sophie growing and her life was suddenly getting more dangerous. She was dealing with a new threat and finally getting the answers she's been looking for. She was growing closer with most of her friends, although I did feel some characters got slightly left out. Dex feels horrible after making a big mistake, and he risks everything to fix it. He and Sophie have a great, beautiful friendship that can not be broken. Fitz is patching things up after his, ahem, *attitude*, in the last book. He and Sophie are required to trust each other now, it's what will save them during a difficult task later. Biana desperately wants in on this secret "club" with Sophie. Sophie gives in and now has her gang of friends, which leaves us in a slight cliff-hanger. More like dangling our feet of the cliff, which now begins the new adventure. There is also a surprising (and sad) new twist in the story, something that has not been done yet...until now...Basically, I REALLY LIKED EVERBALZE!!! SUPER excited for the next book!!! CANT WAIT!P.S. Team Keefe!P.P.S. I recommend this book to EVERYONE! (After you read the first two books of course) Ok... First of all. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was building up so much anticipation that someone was going to die. Like, a BIG character. Now, all of that was wasted. Anyways, I sincerely loved the book. Probably my favorite KOTLC so far. Loved the idea of new creatures entering the series. Although, why is Sophie taking so many risks? She really does NOT think about consequences before she does something, but I'm guilty of that, it's OK. And what about Keefe?!?! He's KICKING BUTT IN THIS FREAKING BOOK! I didn't expect that freak twist at the end with his mom being the culprit instead of his dad! And..... THEY'RE GOING TO STAY WITH THE BLACK SWAN?!?! Don't think that's a smart idea.... since they were the ones that began this whole shebang. So, yeah. GREAT JOB SHANNON MESSENGER!
