Perfect for those readers who love dogs, but are in the mood for a little chick lit! Rachel Fielding is a 39 year old PR exec in London. She has the boyfriend, the great flat, and a wardrobe to die for. Then her Aunt Dot dies, and leaves Rachel virtually in charge of everything. She goes from city chic to the country nearly overnight, and her life virtually changes for the better. Going from a sleek PR exec to running a kennel operation is no easy feat. She befriends new people in her aunt's community, and makes a few changes along the way including occupational, and personal. After many hours of cleaning Dot's house she comes across family secrets that without her help of revealing those secrets her family relationship with her mother could not change for the better. I loved this book. Great for a rainy night in! It was O.K. The book started off with potential. Then, in the second chapter a new main character is introduced and the third chapter another main character. This jumping around of main characters was very confusing in the beginning. By the middle of the book, things were a little clearer. The three plotlines with three main characters seemed to interweave, but it was still confusing at times and I didn't think there was much of a conclusion for all three main characters. I think this story has potential, but it needs a lot of work. The cover image is also deceptive as it certainly doesn't represent any of the dogs in the story.
