Macarons At Midnight (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

I like Anna's books and had the pleasure of actually meeting her at an author event back in June in London, lovely lady, great event! So, when I found this book I was so pleased and eager to read. I loved that it was written by a British and American authors, so the arse/ass was used in the right place! The story was a sweet slow burn romance and a chance meeting that gave each Tristan and Henry something more to the very stilted lives their were currently living. Both from opposites sides of the social spectrum (Yorkshire meets New York) and very different career paths - advertising and baking!!! Tristan is the sarcastic Brit and his banter with Henry was comical at times - being "radished" is still making me chuckle now! Henry is a baking perfectionist, but has fallen for Tristan's charm! The recipes in the book were an added bonus and have been highlighted for future use - fab idea!!!There was one niggle, one very LARGE niggle that stopped this being the 5 star read it should have been - the ending. Oh! sweet mother of all that is not right with a book ending!!!!! I understand the little drama at about 90%....life can't all be cannelloni's and cupcakes!!! But seriously, the last paragraph???? It was very sweet, sentimental even with a cheesy grin....but I am left hanging!!! I don't get "happy for now" endings, if you are going to finish with that, then give me an epilogue....which is sadly missing here too....what I would've loved to have read is Tristan taking Henry home to England for Christmas.....not the abrupt ending I was given...did I say I was unhappy?? Yes!!!So, although I recommend this book (and I am a sap, I need the full HEA and adore epilogues) just don't expect anything more than fluff at the end! This is such a sweet, beautiful read. I picked it up because I adore these two authors, and I was looking for something cute and romantic, and that's totally what I got here. It was wonderfully sweet and fluffy, and I fell head over heels in love with the characters and the story from the very first page. The two authors have produced a truly lovely romance novel here, something that will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone, it's a total gem. And, as a side note, reading this book made me incredibly hungry. Be warned ;)

What do You think about Macarons At Midnight (2014)?

This is one of the best books I have ever read and I have read a lot of books! I like the ending and the whole thing. I am even having my parents/sister read it. Suzanne Nelson is one of favorite authors. I have like 5-10 favorite authors and she made the list. I love all her books, I have not read one of her books and closed it feeling bad. I always close my book by slamming it shut and sucking in all the words and goodness. I feel good because I love the book, but I feel sad because it's over. I think they should make a movie about it. I can already imagine it. I would watch it right away and make my friends watch it.
