Sleeping Beauty was the first Walt Disney movie that I read and saw when I was a little girl and I loved the story! But the new version, Maleficent is by far better! Ever since I was little I often wondered why so many childhood stories tell us that a girl is weak and needs to be saved, why can't a girl save the day and do everything that the prince does?! The reason why I love Maleficent is that we don't find just a wicked villain but someone who is capable of great love, it tells us that not every love story is true, that ppl can hide their intetion, and it teaches us that you can never forget who you are and if you fall you will at some point get back on your feet.I believe women are adventurous and bold enough to make a great story! I haven't yet had the pleasure of watching the film, so imagine my excitement when I saw this at target! Despite my excitement, I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The overall journey was enjoyable, but as most movie-to-book adaptations, very rushed. For such a complex story line, more could have been done to turn this into an absolute masterpiece. There were also random pockets of unnecessary, and over elongated descriptions that, on numerous occasions, nearly bored me to sleep. Even with the disappointments, I genuinely enjoyed this book. It's simple, quick, and will have you hanging by the page... occasionally.
What do You think about Maléfique (2014)?
Me gusta más la versión de "La Bella Durmiente", pero para cuento infantil... es bastante lindo.
