I spent much of time thinking just how much I disliked the heroine. Too much self-deprecation, lack of confidence - but then managing to save the world. I did however fall for a few of the red herrings and the story got a lot better towards the end. This was one of those reads where I was on the brink of giving up and then turning just one more page until I got to the end of the book. So, all in all, I must have enjoyed it and there were a few intriguing things about the world. I am now at a place where I want to see just how things develop for Kara. Recommended to two of the normal crew. The book was very good! I had a great time reading it. The only ick to it was that lots of stuff had too much explanation to it. There was a thorough explanation of the symbols and the demons. Which is a good thing for a first book. Hopefully in the other books we will have less explanation of the terms that we've come accustomed to in this book. I just love Ryan. I'm pissed at myself that I fell for Ryan being the bad guy! I hope that they hook up in the next books!!:)
