What do You think about Vom Dämon Gezeichnet (2000)?
while I kind of knew what to expect, for it was my second reading this story, I found myself quite enthrall by it.Kara Gillian, despite a weak beginning, proved herself a good detective. The demons and arcane aspects showed originality in a genre where weres and vampires are reimagined every days, for better or for worse.However, I am quite disapointed with the whole sexual subplot: I am not sure a sex scene 30 pages in was quite necessary, nor the oversexualisation of its Demonic Lord. Must all women fall to such viles every time?

I am a big fan of the white trash zombie books by Diana Rowland, so I decided to read her first series about detective (and demon summoner) Kara Gillian of the Beaulac, LA, police department. This is the firsts book in that series (I've purchased three more). It's also her first published book. And I enjoyed it. Fun, good twists in the ending, another interesting heroine, even more of her respect for coroners as mentors. Eager to get to the others in the series (but other books to read first, *sigh*).
