I didn't really like Reid and Kate's relationship, but I thought Jack's reaction was a little too much. He didn't really try to talk to her, he just threatened to carry her on to the plane if she didn't come back to RI with him. Maybe I will like that relationship more in the 4th book which takes place 10 years later. I did feel story for Reid who had been alone for so long since the death of his wife I think once Kate is older I will like their relationship more. There will still be 28 years between them, but it won't seem so icky as when Kate is 18. I did like Jack's line when he was confronting them that 2 months ago he could have had Reid arrested for what he was doing. I was glad that Clare found Aidan and his back story made me cry. When he had his fortieth birthday I thought it was funny that Clare said she was glad that he was now in her decade. I liked the epilogue with the little boy and Kate at the awards. 4.5 stars. This book is the Clare and Kates story which leads on from Treading Water part one but it can be read as a stand alone, I would however recommend you read part one.I found myself aching for Clare at the beginning, I sobbed my way through Kate's party and was completely broken for her when she went home. I had too force myself to keep going knowing that she had to have something good happen to her and I was rewarded by watching her and Aidan.I liked Kates story but found myself always wanting to get to Clare. I absolutely loved the epilogue, my goodness, that was awesome. Thank you Marie, yet another book of yours I have fallen in love with. Im starting on the next Treading water tonight.
What do You think about Marking Time (2000)?
Ok a box of tissues for the first part of the book. Nice redemption but still very touchy subject
