Sam and Nick are called to an address by Senator Henry Lightfeather. Inside the apartment, they find the Senator's mistress raped and murdered. Nick recognizes her as one of the cleaning crew at the Senate office building. As Sam and her detectives investigate the murder, another member of the cleaning crew is found dead. Now as they work to find a link between the murders, clues could lead them to the highest office in the land. This is a terrific addition to Marie Force's Fatal series. Along with an interesting mystery, we get to see Sam and Nick's relationship grow. This series also has great secondary characters that shine with their own stories. And, two people from Sam and Nick's past are back into their lives and ready to cause havoc. My rating: 5 Stars. It's a strong 3.5, 3+ for Fatal Consequences and the weaker half for Fatal Destiny the novella all about Sam and Nick's wedding. In the main book we have tons of action: Sam's dad's wedding (ultra tacky), a senator friend of Nick's calling for Sam after discovering his girlfriend dead, a call girl ring, Sam's ex-husband, an orphan who charms Nick and a wedding planner nicknamed "Tinkerbelle" by Sam who always wears pink.More high drama from a kidnapped cop, Nick's estranged mother, Samantha's body and their friends/coworkers who are all hooking up blurring the lines between Nick and Samantha's private lives. Some disturbing stuff and an interesting couple of twists on the case. We are left on the eve of the wedding shower. The novella opens there with Nick and Sam dealing with a personal tragedy that alternately bonds and pushes them away from each other. But they work things out for a wedding that's a little too much like fan fiction (and I love me some good fan fic). But this is too much of that: famous designer wants to do the wedding gowns for all, famous rock star wants to show up and sing, all of Washington and the world wants to be there for Samantha and Nick.Loved the novel, tolerated the novella.
What do You think about Fatal Consequences (2011)?
Very good. I liked that they included the wedding at the end (Fatal Destiny).
