Mary is a down to earth 12-year-old girl. Or at least she thought so until she began seeing the ghost of her dead great-grandmother. After several odd encounters Mary finally learns that Tansey wants to see her daughter, Emer. And she needs Mary's help to do it. There's a problem: Emer's been in the hospital and is probably dying.A feel-good book geared towards girls. The end result is a travelogue of a visit to the childhood home. Mary O'Hara is a 12-year-old girl from Dublin whose grandma, Emer, is dying. Mary and her mother Scarlett visit Emer every day. One day, when coming back from school, Mary meets a mysterious woman named Tansey who ends up being the ghost of Emer's mother and has come to help her daughter's passing. The four women go on a short road trip and two of the women are either dead or dying. It is a pretty good book but it makes you need to think about it a little.
This book is adorable and sweet and makes me feel like the world is a little brighter.

A ghost story that's friendly and hopeful, though the plot suggests it should be sad.

Quiet, simple, and very sweet. In the most elegant sense of those words.
