At the rate Lacey was going, if he didn’t keep her with him, she would get killed within a few hours. He’d invested a lot in her over the years, and there was no way he was letting her wipe out all the years of work in one day. No. He would keep her alive, and he was going to discover who wanted her dead. Why would anyone want her to die? What had she done to merit so much attention from a killer? But those questions would have to wait. First, he had to deal with his team and the situation that they were embroiled in. He opened the door of the warehouse and gestured for her to step aside. “You live here?” Lacey asked as she surveyed the place. “No, I work here with some friends on…a project we’re doing.”
