This did, indeed, contain content that was difficult to read. I received a copy of this book for review purposes. The part of the book that I enjoyed most was the character development of Megan and Nick. Nick's character is one that you instantly fall in love with- gorgeous, funny, committed, and just an all around great guy. You felt Megan's emotions right along with her-pain, heartache, fear, love, persistence, and spunk. The subject matter was emotionally draining, and I was left sick feeling, so the author definitely made it feel real. I don't know that I could stomach reading more containing rape, sex trafficking, or violence against innocent girls. Hm. I don't quite know what to think. I'll come back to review this...So I've had some time to think about this. While that twist made for an interesting subject matter, it wasn't developed enough. Law & Order: SVU is one of my favorite shows and has many episodes regarding human trafficking so while I'm not an expert on the matter, I do have some background in regards to it. I feel like while it was horrifying, it was really unrealistic. If there had been less twists and more details, it would've made for a better read.
What do You think about Nearly Broken (2000)?
I DNF I just wasn't feeling it.... Ugh maybe another time or something.
