Every wall was painted a different shade of pastel and signed records and CDs were the only art there. As Chloe waited on the sofa for Sander to finish up, her tummy quivered with nerves. It had been another long, sleepless night, and she knew she didn’t look like a woman dating a celebrity. This morning she’d spent the best part of an hour ridding herself of the dark circles under her eyes.She had never felt more like a fool in her life.Yesterday she had been so sad knowing tonight would be her last day with him, then when he’d told her he wanted her at the wedding, she had been so happy. But the broken woman inside had reared her ugly head and taunted that being with him for any length of time would break her heart. So she opened her mouth and ruined the evening.It was nothing short of a miracle he still wanted her to do this. After all, he had been clear from the start that he didn’t want a woman who would fall at his feet, and she was almost there. But she had been honest.
