No Ifs, Ands, Or Bears About It (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
I really liked this book until closer to the end. Then it lost me. It just seem that after all the time they spend trying to have sex, then when they do she is more interested in doing herself instead. I like steaming sex scenes, but the end was a little much. The fact that the h goes from stand up to everyone to hide and let people die instead of helping them left me confused. Glad I didn't paid but .99 for it. This story had the potential to be much better than it was. Unfortunately, the plot suffered from being slapped together haphazardly, and lacked so many story building details, that it required a huge suspension of disbelief on my part just to make it through the rest of the story. I mean, am I really supposed to believe that the heroine moved to the town, semi "adopted" a kid, fall in lust, be recognized as the fated mate/co-leader of said object of lust, AND move in with him all in under a 24 hour period? You would think that I should put all of that behind "spoiler" tags, but honestly, all of what I mentioned happens within the first fifteen pages of the book. This left the majority of characters underdeveloped, and allowed me to feel no attachment to them.If that wasn't enough, the heroine was really annoying after awhile. Luckily, I really enjoyed the hero, Ty. He was alpha, yet not overbearing (no pun intended), and he kept the story readable.
