You know what you do when you assume! And it is so true in this story. Vic is gone for a month on a work assignment. Before he left his lover, Marc, refused to move in with him saying Vic was so much younger than he was. Now Vic returns and finds a very young man living with Marc. Lee Brazil uses words expertly in making us feel Vic's rage, betrayal and utter despair. So much in such a short story. Well written. This short piece of about a dozen pages jumps right in. I felt like I was entering a story in the middle and leaving it before the end. Now not to say that I didn't enjoy reading it. My attention was grabbed quick when the problem was presented and I was vested until the confrontation took place. The ending was abrupt and I would have liked that twist at the end explored a bit, but I still took pleasure in what I assume were the end results.A guy comes back from his business trip to find his boyfriend, who made a comment about 'younger men', now living with a younger guy even than him. He has intentions of breaking things off and goes to Mark's apartment to tell him so.Those who enjoy this author's works or someone who is looking for short vignettes of m/m contemporary romance should give this a try.
★★★☆☆Short and quick - I didn't see the twist coming.
