"What I know for sure is that what I think, say and do comes back to me and its the same for you" Its what the sage insight that we have come to expect from Oprah Winfrey. She really does practice living her best life and staying in the moment and she encourages us to do the same. From finances to friendships, she shares the hard learned, hard fought truths that have become what she knows for sure and for 3hr and 54 mins, she felt like that wise, kind, open friend you go to for important advice. She's lived most of it and gleaned the rest from the world around her and is eager to share. I appreciated these three things in particular: continuing to put great, honest and sincere value in myself, saying no is ok when you really can't find a benefit to saying yes that doesn't only involve pleasing others and that intentionally foregoing the news and its negativity is not mine alone, other people agree (especially Oprah :))What I know for sure is that this book was an insightful gem that I will share with friends. Oprah, thank you for sharing. I'm not a fan of Oprah, so when a coworker recommended this to me I was doubtful. I read it dutifully and now I'm a bit conflicted. On one hand, there were a lot of things in this book that made me think about my life in a different light - essays about love, acceptance, gratitude and faith that rang true to me and reminded me that I'm a work in progress. But then there was the story that took place on Oprah's private jet. Yes, her private jet. Or the stories that took place at her home in Maui. I mean, these are things that she has worked hard for and I believe she deserves them. But it's a little hard to relate. And, unfortunately, when someone is trying to teach you to become your best self, you need to be able to relate to them. At the end of the day, I decided not to throw the baby out with the bathwater - I focused on what touched me and ignored the parts that left me cold.
What do You think about Ono U što Sam Sigurna (2014)?
This is a good read in that the chapters are very short and thought provoking.
