Despite appearances, this isn't a book about a penguin and a pumpkin. This is a book about a penguin and his young sibling named Pumpkin. Despite the initial surprise, this is a very sweet story about being considerate of your younger siblings and also about what things happen during fall (there are pumpkins in the story and falling leaves). The illustrations are very cute an often have funny details. I adore the illustrations in these Penguin books. And while this one was still cute, it wasn't as sweet as Pinecone. And I've been meaning the other 2 Penguin books. Must get to that. Could use this possibly in a toddler theme for fall. Not quite enough to it for me to use in preschool. And this might be best as a lap-read where you can read all the different speech "bubbles" without confusing the child.
I didn't like this one as much as Salina Yoon's other books, but it was solidly okay.

Cute for an autumn story time, but not my favorite in this series.

One of the penguins is definitely dressed as Harry Potter.
