He hoisted his duffle bag onto one shoulder and looked at the empty home, a bit of melancholy coming over him. It wasn’t that he was unhappy with his place in life. Hell, he’d chosen it. But Jake wanted more. He wanted a woman by his side, someone to share his quiet evenings with when the workday was through.
