Rapacia: The Second Circle Of Heck (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
I really enjoyed the first book, but find that the second book is more tedious to get through. The first book found innocent Milton trapped in Heck where he was sure he did not belong, especially with his kleptomaniac sister. The end of the first book sees Milton escape Heck and back to "the stage" or life. Now he's trying to find a way to get both his sister and his new, well only, friend out of Heck. All the while his sister finds herself drawn further into the entangling snare of The Grabbit and Heck itself. Will Milton manage to "stay alive" and find a way to get his sister and friend out of the clutches of Bea (Elza) Bubb (principal of Heck)? I eventually got bored with this book and gave up on it. As noted above I really enjoyed the first book but this one was so much more tedious and I had high expectations. This is the sequel to the first heck book, and it is just as good if not better than the first. I think that Rapacia is my favorite circle as of yet, and the Grabbit was also definitely a high. Milton's journey to save his sister foro the dead, in the process becoming dead was truly touching, especially his mom's present, I won't give it away though. I found myself asking for more and was, sometimes, playfully on the edge of my seat. At some parts, it was a bit confusing, especially when it was from the point of view of a ferret. I will read the third one, Blimpo, when it comes out in paperback. This has a place on my favorite series shelf.
What do You think about Rapacia: The Second Circle Of Heck (2009)?
A dark humor about where bad children go when they die. A kid-friendly version of Dante's Inferno.
