On a day when it was too hot to run around and play, Red Knit Cap Girl decides to read a book under a tree. Squirrel takes her to a big tree with a large nook at the base. Red Knit Cap Girl and her animal friends decide to make it their reading nook and bring all sorts of books and things to make it wonderful for everyone. Owl and Moon make a sign to put on the tree that says "Library". They created the perfect little library in their hideaway in the woods.Good for preschool or toddler storytimes. It's all about the community of animals Red Knit Cap Girl lives with in the forest as they are shown a hidden nook where they decide to keep their books. I still wish the main character had a name, as it is a mouthful to say over and over, and the lesson is a little blunt at the end, but it is a sweet story. Allusions to the sneaky fox are seen. And there is an overall sense of community spirit that comes through with this story as they create a library.
Red Knit Cap Girl and her forest friends build a library in a tree nook. Warm, lovely story.
