Refracted Crystal: Diamonds And Desire - Plot & Excerpts
You gave me hope again. It had been a year now since she and Daniel had met. Then he had been Daniel Logan, a misanthropic, reclusive antagonist living on his own in Scotland, and yet forming an obsession with her because he reminded her of a long lost love. Despite herself, she had fallen for him then, not understanding that he was running away from himself, hiding from a world that she had only gradually begun to realise was becoming increasingly empty and void of all meaning for him. Though he had been brusque, hard—cruel, even—with her, he had also pierced her soul with those strange eyes of his in a way that she had never encountered before. He had taken her—completely, violently—when she had not even known how much she needed to be taken. A year and yet it seemed a lifetime ago. The Daniel who sat beside her now, asleep in their first class seats, exhausted by their lovemaking and then the demands of early conference calls before they had been driven to the airport, seemed completely different in so many ways.
