Saving Sean (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

4This is the second book in Riley's Seattle Stories series. I was a huge fan of the realism that Riley puts into her stories and the way she makes the subplot actually interesting. As well know, when it comes to romance novels, too often the subplot feels like filler and the reader is just tolerating it until she gets "back to the good stuff". Not in the this case. Toward the end, I was just as eager to discover the whys and hows or the subplot as the characters were. The romance between Peter and Sean might feel sudden and phony, but not when you take into account the stories behind both men. Don't just dismiss them as more of that "filler". Actually pay attention, and do read book 1 first! Peter was the main character is this tale, and he was a compelling character, we caught mere glimpses of who he was in After Ben, but in Saving Sean we see more of him and what makes him who he is. the way he changes hi relationship with his father just because of a few postcards on a fridge was an inspiration, be it simply because it was time or because he saw what the damage that was done to Sean by his father passing, it was incredible. so many times we think after someone has passed I wish I could go back, Peter saw that he was making mistakes and changed there and then, he changed so that there wouldn't be regrets later on his life. Peter is a man with a great heart, he is kind and loyal and always there for those who need him, and was just a little bit in need of someone to love him in return and he found it in the most unlikely of circumstances, he fought for Sean, past all his issues, his running away and hiding peter fought and won. Maggie peeved me in this story, she doesn't understand that her brother needed to grieve even if she didn't want to, she pushes him to hard, and how she chooses to treat peter was disgusting he was helping her and her attitude to his opinions and feelings about the man he loves was terrifying.Peter's and Sean's foray into making new friends reminds me that one can never have to many friends, how Peter grows to see Morgan as more than a rival, through his irrational jealousy of was also nice, shows us people are made up of so many different levels. Con Riley, wrote another captivating, gripping tales with characters so different from the first book, that she shows us she grows her characters she expands so there will always be more, we will always want more at the end of the day.

What do You think about Saving Sean (2012)?

5 star narration on the audiobook but 3 stars for the story. Still has the confusing flashbacks.
