Maybe my favorite of the series. Roxie Rivera is a good writer, the plot is always interesting even though it may seems a bit repetitive at times and gives a sense of overused formula (the always big dominant man and the woman who needs to be "protected", etc.). But Roxie Rivera manages to make it work...somehow. I liked the lead characters very much. Bianca is a very interesting character. And I liked that for once, a few things weren't just about him protectig her, etc. This book is the 5th volume in the Her Russian Protector's series and my absolute favorite and by that I mean I read it several times. I loved the coupling of Sergei and Bianca because it's so surprising and unexpected because of their seemingly apparent differences. Sergei is a Russian mob enforcer and Bianca is an up and coming business owner who,owns her own wedding dress shop. The attraction is mutual but Bianca wants nothing to dimwits Sergei because of his profession. Bianca's brother was killed several years ago and died right in front of her because of gang violence. Although she tries to avoid him, it's unavoidable because he is the bodyguard of one of her closest friends V. A series of events brings them together and they finally succumb to their attraction. Sergei is so dirty and Bianca is so proper and it was so funny watching that dynamic play out in their hot love scenes. This book has it all, danger, intrigue and heat. Even though you can read it as a standalone it's best to get the series and read in order for background information on the characters. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I read this in tandem with 'In Kelly's corner'. and a good thing to since their stories are intertwined. summary: guy in a shady mob business including enforcing mob law, cage fights, etc. sort of rich. supposedly he's big EVERYWHERE. overprotective. and with poor intuition about his women. girl: insecurity issues, succesful but humble and have a stalker. rich. would save their man by giving up those hard earned riches. plot: same old, same old stalker thing. I fell in love with my protector and have impossibly pornographic sex over and over again. remember those quickies? Yep. something like that. It will do for the moment. It will do.Orgasmic read.

I actually liked this book for many reasons. One I liked that fact that they were an interracial couple but for most of the book you could not tell. I have not read any of the other books but I am sure that events in the other stories made it clear that she was black. I like the fact that you could drop anyone into the story in the lead woman's role despite their skin color and still have a great story. I liked the characters dynamics a lot and the story was not too over the top with drama. This was a really nice, cute, loving and sexy story.
