It was really lovely to discover a new book had been published - so I even bought the hardback ;)The story starts in an interesting way, but I groaned internally when Rich and Kahlan lose their powers. For God's sake - we've spent 10 books or so with one or both of them losing their powers. In the beginning you understood their struggle, etc. But now, finally, Richard has come into his own... and you want him to kick ass! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!Anyway, with that out of the way, it's an interesting story, and does open up more of the universe. Introducing new magic, new characters, and new peoples. The ending is one hell of a cliffhanger - although I sincerely hope the solution isn't tacky. I think I want to smack Terry goodkind!! my heart is bleeding and I have to wait until next year (probably) to staunch the bleeding. as always, I love his books. I think I have read them all. I am wholy invested into the kaylen and Richard characters along with the surrounding cast. they just can't seem to catch a break. I want them to be happy and have a family but that isn't how they work. and I love them for it. in this book they just lose too much and I don't see how it will go on. I was in the grip of this book from the first page. I gobbled up every word and now I want more. thank you for such a great series.
What do You think about Severed Souls (2014)?
I'm done with Terry. Either he co-wrote or didn't edit. And the deaths were to much for this fan.
