Griffin’s latest Tracers series thriller is a terrifying journey, a twisting, turning nail-biter that skillfully mixes dark, sinister suspense and hot steamy romance that will keep readers anxiously on the edge of their seats and in the dark until they’re expertly led to that ah-ha moment. Her stars are both alphas and their battle for constant supremacy in the bedroom and the field is brilliantly expectant, and her co-stars all excel in their respective roles. Her narrative is no-nonsense and gritty and perfectly matches the personalities of her enigmatic law enforcement/military characters. And the climactic ending really rocks this emotional rollercoaster. Brava!FBI Special Agent Tara Rushing has been called to the heinous murder of a female politician and from the crime scene she’s betting this was very personal. Now she’s just got to vet out all the suspects particularly the sexy ex-Marine who knows more than he’s telling.Liam Wolfe is happy running his personal security firm, it gives him the feel of action without the red tape he faced in the military. When a former client and friend ends up not just dead but mutilated he takes it personally and even if it means going around the pretty fed sent to investigate the crime, he’ll get to the bottom of it.Suddenly the body count is rising, they may have a serial killer on their hands and even with the heady sensual pull between them mistrust is the elephant in the room. Is there any hope for them?
What do You think about Shadow Fall (2015)?
Shadow FallThis was a page turner from the beginning. Just when you thought you had figured out who did it the plot takes a turn leaving you wondering. When FBI Agent Tara Rushing and another female agent are sent to a small Texas town to investigate the murder of a prominent woman politician they run into resistance due to their gender. This murder is also being investigated by Liam Wolfe and his team because they see him as a suspect in the woman’s death because his security company’s compound is located near where the body was dumped and his past with her. There is chemistry between Tara and Liam but Tara has to fight any attraction because Liam may be the killer. Great mystery with a little romance thrown in.

I know I've said it before, but Laura Griffin writes some of the best romantic suspense around and Shadow Fall is a strong addition to her canon. So strong it sent me on a reread of the entire Tracers series after I finished. The series as a whole is just that good. Both the romance and the suspense elements are strong here, and the chemistry between hero Liam and heroine Tara is off the charts. Griffin does a great job of exploring the difficulties of being a woman in what is still in a lot of places (like rural Texas) a boys club. One of the things I loved most about Liam was that he takes Tara seriously as a professional who is good at her job. He never talks down or patronize her (and seriously I've seen some "heroes" do it). The mystery in this one is complicated and compelling and it's just as much fun watching Tara and Liam figure it out as it is to watch them fall in love. If you're into strong heroines, sexy heroes and suspense that will keep you guessing, look no further than Shadow Fall. And if you need more, well, there's a huge backlist of Tracers to read (or reread, as the case may be).

Shadow Fall is a perfect example of how suspense and romance is blended into a a great read! Laura pulls you in from the first page giving you well developed characters that are full of depth and a suspenseful story that will keep you guessing!Special Agent Tara Rushing is sent to the crime scene of the murder of a controversial politician and it is clear from the start that the local sheriff and his good old boys club isn't happy with her being there. They are ready to narrow their suspect list to ex-Marine and current security expert Liam Wolfe but to Tara the facts just don't add up and with the help of the experts at the elite Delphi Center she sets out to find the real killer. Liam Wolfe is a hard man to find anything about and that is the way he wants it. Its his job to protect his clients and no distractions can be allowed but Tara Rushing is proving to be a big distraction. He is inexplicably drawn to her and as he finds himself being investigated for the murder of one of his ex-clients he finds a need to keep her safe. From the start the sparks between Tara and Liam are hot and things just keep getting hotter as Tara investigates what is beginning to look like a serial killer, a killer looking for recognition!Another great thoroughly enjoyable addition to the Tracers series!
