Shatner Rules Deluxe: Your Guide To Understanding The Shatnerverse And The World At Large (2011) - Plot & Excerpts
This book is an easy read and for the most part extremely funny. Shatner definitely has a good sense of humour. On a few occasions he also seems to have a very good ability to hate, especially George Takei. In fact, in one chapter he had nothing nice to say about the rest of the TOS cast, except Nimoy. I suppose because the two of them talked things out at some point.Otherwise, this is a really fun read, and it won't take long to get through it. I love Shatner. I may love Shatner more than Shatner does. In 1987 I clubbed an old lady to her knees to catch a Mardi Gras doubloon Shatner threw from his Bacchus float. I love all things Shatner. . .except this book.Shatner finally jumped the shark with this one. Even making allowances for Shatner being Shatner and all about Shatner, this is crap. I love all thing Shatner so much that I'd buy a steaming Shatner turd to encase in Lucite and put on my desk. Now I don't have to, because I have this book instead.Awful. I can't even put this back out in a yard sale for fifty cents, lest I pass on the horror like the Plague on some other poor sucker.Run away. Run far, far away.
