short and bland- not bad, not good, but enjoyable enough to get through 90% in 1 go. There where no stupid arguments, break-ups, or dumb misunderstandings (that could be sorted out through talking to each other), between the couple, instead they did what any logical humans would do- compromise, communicate and be true to each other about their feelings- not what 95% of these stupid romance novel characters do. 3.5 StarsI love Ms Stacey's Kowalski series. This novella is, to me, not as good as them but close. SSK is a fairly quick read and the H/H have good chemistry. There aren't very many secondary characters in this story but Cam and Anna carry the story well. At first I thought Cam was a real jerk, but he quickly saw the real person in Anna and things progressed. I could understand Anna's high-strung spirit because I've been in the fast paced business world and suddenly had to stop or slow down to a manageable pace quickly. It is not an easy thing to do. Their first kiss is in an unusual place and seemed kind of rushed to me. It could have been expanded and made more believable, but it was still well written. There was a good HEA too, but I would have preferred it to end a bit differently. I'm not saying hers was a bad HEA, I'm just saying that's how I like my HEAs. Should she decide to improve on this already good read, it would be good if it adding some (what I thought was) missing details about the characters and the HEA. Ms Stacey has another Kowalski book coming out and I'll be right there in line to buy it. But if you want a good quick read for the beach, I recommend this one.
What do You think about Slow Summer Kisses (2012)?
Loved this book, although I felt like the ending was a bit rushed...
