Spellbinder - Sang Pengikat Mantra (2014) - Plot & Excerpts
This book is a mess. The premise is quite good actually, a girl named Belladonna can see ghosts and talk to them. But one day, all ghosts are gone. She investigates about the missing ghosts and crossing over to the Other Side, the land of the dead.Sadly, the execution of the story is really poor. Repetitions, too much unnecessary descriptions, and unmemorable characters, made this book very bland and unimpressive. I don't like the translation version either, it feels very amateurish for a big publisher like GPU. I thought this book was a wonderful sci-fi ish book that is the story of a young girl who is already considered a loner at school, and if anyone found out she could see ghosts she would be even more of a weirdo. Also, just a side fact, if Belladonna had kept her mom's last name her name would be Belladonna Nightshade, basically meaning the same thing, a poisonous plant. Anyway, I thought it was a really good book about a girl who finds new friends and discovers her destiny.
