This book was recommended to me a few years ago but I wasn't ready for it then. Recently, I walked passed it and realized it was time. I had done my best to read A Course in Miracle before but had difficulty. Bernstein was able to take heady material and simplify it. I enjoyed her relaxed, conversational tone. Blending personal experience with sage wisdom is an effective method of helping the lessons cement. This may not be the book for everyone, but it was certainly the book for me. Life changing. This was my first introduction to "A course in Miracles" I had never even heard of such a thing before this book. After this I was lead to Marianne Williamson then I became a student of the course and its changed the way I live my life. If you are interested in "self help" this book does a good job getting you motivated to change by telling you all the ups and downs the author went through and how she managed to turn it around. BE AWARE the author is young and speaks in that tone throughout the book. Im part of gen X so I loved it but if you are older you may not like it. if you are gen Y or a Milli then you will really enjoy it. Very easy read with great life changing info. :)
Bernstien's background is very very similar to my own and I related easily to her journey.

It's 12 step for people addicted to the ego and insecurities. I loved it.
