It looks like I'm jumping on the Mary Calmes bandwagon. The first book I read of hers, "A Matter of Time," I didn't like much. But the next two -- "Mine," "Floodgates" -- I liked a lot. And now, "Steamroller" goes into the "like" pile too. These boys were adorable. Although everyone fawned over Carson, who was the handsomest and most perfect specimen ever, Vince had a bit of an edge. I liked the balance between the two.This was as instalove and instalove gets, but that didn't bother me. After one sizzling night together, Vince and Carson were talking about love and forever. The ending was jarring and abrupt. I wanted more time with these two. What can I say? I love books by Mary Calmes. This is no exception. I will admit that sports books are not the top of my list ever. I really don’t like reading about most sports and definitely don’t seek any out. This one I gave a chance partially because of a challenge and a big part because of the author.Now, if you are looking for a book that is all about football, you’ll need to look somewhere else. Yes, there is mention and Carson does play football in college. He is set for going pro. The real thing the book is about is a relationship though. Carson likes Vince and vice versa. This book is about them coming together.Though I thought the relationship kinda jumped to serious faster than I thought possible, I did like the two main characters together. They made up for what the other lacked. Carson was outgoing and fun and Vince was serious and defensive. These differences made the story more believable.I don’t want to give away anything, so I am leaving out some items from the review about the end. I am happy with how things turned out. I think both Vince and Carson have their minds in the right place. Really good story.
