I couldn't put these books down and read the whole trilogy straight through!! Interesting scenario where water is scarce and those that control the water have the power. Love that the books cover some heavy topics such as structures of inequality, religious intolerance, racism/discrimination, transgender issues, the ever popular good vs evil, but lots of twists have you wondering who falls on either side. All while telling a good story :) This book unsettled me a little bit. I think it's because it's right in the middle of being a 4 star and a 5 star, for me. Everything I wanted to have happen happened, but I felt vaguely dissatisfied when it did. There were characters I wanted dead but felt disappointed when they died. The transgender bit seemed random, but it makes me wonder why it seemed random? Does a topic like that have to be political? Can't we just accept it as part of the character and leave it at that? My random thoughts on that.Overall, I really enjoyed the book, I was satisfied with the conclusion, nothing majorly upset me. And I think that's why I felt so unsettled. I half expected to have my heart ripped out in this book (he married the wrong woman! Shouldn't that have ripped my heart out?!) but everything was resolved so nicely and neatly that my heart stayed firmly in my chest. Maybe I just like a little tragedy in my fantasy. *shrug*
What do You think about Stormlord's Exile (2011)?
Disappointing ending to a series that started so promising... Ah well, maybe next time Glenda?

good finish for the series, but too many unfinish plot lines
